TFSI 2.0 EA113
EA113 is the base of the first generation TFSI 2.0 engines. For the timing transmision it uses a belt drive as well as a chain, located at the back of the engine, connecting the two camshafts. The engine has won multiple awards for best engine in its category and is a quite reliable source of power if treated correctly.Common issues

The EA888 is the successor of the EA113 engines, with production starting in March 2008. Its two camshafts are now driven with a single chain from the crankshaft replacing the old belt. Another key difference is the balancer shafts having been relocated into the cylinder block itself.Common issues
